Jennifer Latham

Jennifer Latham has worked for Tartine since 2011. She started as a server and a pastry assistant and has been baking bread since 2013. Her love of bread is rooted in Germany, where she lived as a child. Her first attempts at baking were to recreate those fresh, earthy, hearty, loaves that were almost impossible to find in back the US.
Before becoming a baker, Jennifer worked as a journalist and a chess teacher. She has a BA in philosophy from UC Santa Cruz. She is the writer, with Chad Robertson, of Bread Book (December 2021). She is the mother of very energetic twins. She lives, surfs, climbs and bikes in Northern California.
